1. Make Sure you Choose The Right Hair Topper:

Choosing the right hair topper is crucial as it ensures that your thinning area / bald spots are completely covered and with adequate amount of volume. If you don't choose the right combination of base size, length and volume - you might have a hair topper that will look slightly odd no matter how hard you try to make it look natural.

2. Part The Topper Before Flattening The Base:

Sprinkle enough water onto your toppers base to make it damp and then use a fine toothed comb to make your topper's parting. Parting your hair topper when it is damp makes sure that your topper is ready to be styled correctly. Make a clean parting so that you can easily match it with your regular parting.

The easiest way to go about this is to part the topper right in the middle, this will go with most of your hairstyles.

3. Flatten The Base Right:

Flattening the base of your hair topper is absolutely essential otherwise you'll end up with the hair topper looking bumpy or poofy. There are lots of ways of doing this, some experts recommend that you put the hair topper under your bed for about two days to flatten the base but the drawback of this method is that it can cause the hair on the base to go into disarray and you risk damaging your hair topper.

The easiest way out is to use your regular iron on low temperature and using it on the hair topper. Keep in mind that its absolutely essential that you part your topper before you get into ironing it. When you iron out the base make sure you're mindful of the direction in which your hair is parted - iron the part on the left towards the left side and on the right towards the right side. If you are afraid of damaging your hair topper, use a cloth on top of the hair topper.
